Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

Gingerbread House Making 101

Yeah, it has been a while.

Last night we had a Gingerbread House making party. I made the gingerbread....it turned out pretty good, not perfect...but good. The girls had so much fun decorating their own little houses. We had my dear friend, Alicia, over and it was a good thing too because she brought her camera....my battery was completely dead. Thanks be to her for all the great pictures of the kids. And...the not so great pictures of me, oh well...life goes on. There was no shortage of creativity and wonder as they piled the candy on their houses. It was fun to see them enjoy themselves and hopefully we will be able to make this a tradition for our little family.

The last little bit of our lives has been busy. I am currently taking a break from training for my marathon, but hope to be back into it again soon. I have put in my two weeks at work and have mixed emotions about that. My last day will be December 23, so it is coming and coming quick. Working retail through the holidays is not something I would like to do again!! It was a great opportunity, but there comes a time for change and now is that time for us.

Eliza is doing so great in kindergarten!! She loves school and is so excited to go everyday. She is reading and writing and grasping everything so quickly, she amazes me!! She really is smart and we are so proud of her!!

We are finally down to one in diapers, for the first time in 4 years!!!!!! What a relief both financially and mentally!! Toilet training is one thing I am NOT going to miss!! We graduated Marshall into his toddler bed a while ago, and he is doing so well!! I have gotten rid of the highchair and crib.....and really anything else that is baby related!!! Bittersweet, yes, but I am so glad to finally see a light at the end of my tunnel.

Aaron's grandfather passed away on Saturday. We will miss him, but we know that he is no longer in pain and are grateful for the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation at times like these. He was a great example to all his family and friends!! We love you Grandpa Holbrook and will miss you!!

Hopefully I will be able to keep our blog updated now that I won't be working. New things are happening and changing everyday!!!
