Our story starts a while back when Aaron and I were planning a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We went to one of those stupid timeshare presentations and for our time we were given a 2 night 3 day stay at our choice of selected destinations. We chose Steamboat Springs, and were so excited to finally have a vacation to look forward to!!! We had our activities planned and we really couldn't wait. Well, about a week and a half ago we received a letter from the people through whom we reserved our room saying that Wyndam never paid them for our reservations so they canceled our trip!!!! WHAT?!?!?!? A week and a half before we are supposed to go on a much needed vacation and now all of a sudden it is gone!! I was so disappointed. My wonderful mother said she would still watch the kids and Aaron and I could still have some one on one time with each other. So, that would work, we could hang out at the house and have some quiet time. But, then Aaron found some cheap rooms down in Vegas for 2 nights!!!
This is our first real vacation in about 7 years, and the longest we have been away from the kids. It has been so much fun but at the same time, so quiet. We arrived yesterday, only to get whisked away to another timeshare presentation. Which wasn't so bad because we got two free tickets to go see The Tournament of Kings here at the Excalibur. We wanted to see it, but tickets are so expensive we weren't going to be able to, and now we can!! We are both looking forward to seeing that tonight, and it comes with dinner. Cameras are not allowed, so I won't be able to post pictures, sorry.
We made our way down the strip yesterday, through M&M's World, The Bellagio, New York, New York. We stopped and enjoyed the fountains at the Bellagio. They were AMAZING!! Those were one thing I was so looking forward to. I have always wanted to see them, ever since watching Ocean's Eleven!! We took lots of pictures, well...I took lots of pictures. We quickly learned that for us, the daytime is the better time to be out on the strip. As it got darker, it got quite a bit more questionable. We are daytime Vegas people I guess, we are not here for the night life.

I got up this morning and went down to the fitness center to get in a quick run. When I was done with that, Aaron and I went for a quick breakfast. The pool opened at 9, so we went down and soaked up some sun. I stayed down there a while longer than Aaron, he is not the kind of personality that can sit still for an extended period of time. I was so excited to sit and read a book and get more than a page in before being interrupted or needed. I am hoping to get some color on my legs so I don't blind those people running behind me in the race on Saturday. Seriously, I am so white they would need sunglasses at 5:30 in the a.m.!!

I'm so glad you guys get a couple days away! I hope you have a great time at the show.
And don't worry about your kiddies. They are fine! They are all having a great time playing together.
Love ya!
Hooray for vacations!!! And no kids!!! Or dishes/laundry!!! What a fun get-a-way.
Ben and I listen to those stupid timeshares to get free stuff, too!
Bummer about Colorado.
