Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

And The Thunder Rolls

Here we are, 3 days after our neighborhood flood and we get hit again!! I don't have any pictures this time because I ran out at the first signs of flooding to help. There was a van that had attempted to drive through the flood and stalled, so I helped another woman push it back out of the lake it was in, then we had to push another car that was parked and filling with water. After the cars were out of the water and the storm had subsided a little we commenced in bailing out the window wells of the surrounding homes.

All in all 30 of the homes in our neighborhood got flooded, some a little and one the basement was full up to about a foot away from the floor beams of the main level. I feel so bad for the family....they got the worst of it on Saturday and here again they need to go through it all over. The city and the fire department came out a lot faster today, so that was nice. We are all cleaned up now and are praying that the coming storms will be a little more gentle on us.

May those families whose homes have been affected be blessed with comfort and strength at this time.
