Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

First Grade

Last night was a pretty restless night for me. You would think that I would be so excited to have one less child during the day, but the bigger emotion I feel is sadness. My little girl is not little anymore...she is growing up!

When I think of her, at the huge school I get anxious! I hope she doesn't get lost, will she know where to go after lunch and recess? Will she remember where her classroom is? I know these are all silly concerns, but for a first time mom of a first grader, and a woman who worries endlessly about anything anyway, it has made me almost sick! I know she will do great, she didn't even want me to go in with her...I told her tough luck I was going!!

It is going to be a long day, I am sure I will be checking the clock every 15 minutes to make sure I am not late picking her up!!

I think I'm with you on the emotions there! I get nervous thinking about sending my babies off to school and it's still two years before Xander goes to Kindergarten!

She's so big! Before you know it you'll be dropping her off at college!

I know EXACTLY how that feels. I don't think you have to worry to much about Eliza though. She's got such a great personality and being oldest knows how to handle herself pretty well. Hope you worry less tomorrow, I'll try to do the same for my kids. Love the video, that is so cute!!!
