HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZZY!!!! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!
Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

My Little Girl is Growing Too Fast
Today is my little Liza's birthday!! She is getting so big and far too quickly!! She starts first grade next week and I don't know if I am as ready for her to be gone for 6 hours as I originally thought. Let's be honest, there are some days that yes, I am looking forward to it, but all in all I think I am going to be very sad the first couple of days. I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by, I know it sounds very cliche, but it seems like just last week we were driving 40 miles an hour on Bangerter Highway to bring her home from the hospital. It seems like just yesterday I couldn't wait for her to start talking so I could have conversations with her and now I just wish she would be quiet for 2 seconds!!! She has become my best helper and my little sous chef. She is wonderful to have in our family and we are so blessed by her. She loves to serve those she is around and is so compassionate....she is a really great example for her little sister and brothers. She is so smart and funny...she brings a lot of laughter to our home. We love her so very much!!
This last Saturday we had a girlfriend party for her. Her original list included about 18 of her friends, I had her cut it down to 12 because 18 would have been way too many. I think 12 was too many....but you live and learn. Liza wanted to have them all make their own pizzas, the girls really seemed to enjoy it. They created their own masterpieces, then were able to devour them as quickly as they made them. We then had a make up session so that they could look like a pop star!! We tried to have a singing contest, but most of the girls were too shy, so we just danced a lot. We then played limbo and had cake and ice cream!! Eliza is truly blessed to have such great friends that came and supported her on her birthday! They are all very generous as well and we are so grateful to them for their love for our daughter.

My great friend, Angie, came and helped me out with the party. I was so grateful to her for her help!!! I don't know how I would have done it without her, she is amazing. She and her daughter tried to teach the girls the Hoedown Throwdown and it was so cute to watch the girls trying to dance. Eliza had so much fun having all her little friends here, so I hope they all had a good time too!!

How fun and exciting! I like the 'girlfriend' idea of a party. I might have to shamelessly steal that idea from you. Although Brianna's birthday is in June and I'm likely to not remember the idea that long. Maybe though. But...
Happy Birthday Eliza!!!
I know Zoe had a great time! She came home and was acting so grown up like all the big girls!
Happy Birthday El J!
oh, we sooo miss you guys! I am so glad she had a great birthday.
That cake is darling. You are brave to have 12 little girls over for a party! She looks like she had fun! I thought having one start Kindergarten was a big deal but first grade scares me more. Good luck with that.
