First Day of Kindergarten!!!!

Because of my ridiculous work schedule, Aaron didn't give Eliza a blessing last night because I would have missed it. Thank you dear, I would have been extremely sad to have missed it!! However, that made Eliza's day start very early when we pulled her out of bed at 5:30am so he could give her a father's blessing before going to school. She got back in bed with me and I swear it took her almost an hour to fall back asleep. She was so excited about going to school, I finally had to tell her she didn't want to be tired and cranky on her first day, so she had better go back to sleep. Finally, she fell asleep and thus I was able to go back to sleep myself.

When she woke up the first words out of her mouth were, "Can I go to school now"? Her little bubble burst when I told her school didn't start until after lunch. I think this must have been the longest morning in her life. She got showered and dressed, in her dot dress....thank you Grandma Suzi, her backpack on and her shoes on before 10:30. I told her she still had 2 more hours before we would leave, but she didn't care she wanted to be ready now!!! She wanted to ride her bike on her first day, but I forgot to buy a chain for her bike and so we walked! She got tired about half way to the school and asked if she could get on my shoulders.....I laughed and said no! She made it, although I wonder now if she will want to walk again. We got there a little early and so we waited in the little playground area, she was looking pretty nervous until she saw her teacher then she was great. I am so glad she likes her teacher and she has a friend from primary in her class so that helps me be a little less nervous for her.
This is a great milestone and she did so well!! I cannot wait for her to get home and tell me all about what she did!! She is getting so big and I know she will do so great in school.
