Today was Caidin's birthday!! He is now three years old....wow how time goes by. It is crazy to think he is 3 already. He is getting so big and so independent, sometimes it is cute how he wants to do everything by himself....sometimes it is just plain annoying! He is so fun and we are so excited to have him as part of our family! He brings us much laughter and happiness. He is a wonderful big brother to Marshall, and a fabulous helper to me! He loves his sisters so much and wants to play with them as often as they will let him. He has been my most challenging child, but I wouldn't change it for the world, if we didn't have challenges we wouldn't grow, right?! He is a wonderful boy and we are so glad he is a part of our family.

We had the family over for our traditional birthday dinner. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner, he told me cereal. I apologized and told him we weren't going to have all the family over and have cereal for dinner. So, he wanted Top Ramen instead. Again, I told him he needed to pick something else, goofy kid. He finally decided on hamburgers. We can do that! It is always fun to have the family over for dinner, but it is also crazy at times. On my side of the family there are 10 grandchildren and Eliza is the oldest. That is 10 kids ages 5 and under!! While they do have fun together, it gets pretty loud and I can only take so much before it is too much;)

Again, our families were very generous and Caidin had a great birthday! He got a Henry train from Grandma and Grandpa Bailey, Aunt Megan, Uncle Adam, and Uncle Gregory. A street hockey set and bubbles from Uncle Paul and Aunt Megan, Mikey, Matt and Emma. Awesome Lightning McQueen swim shorts and a CRUNCH bar from Aunt Tami and Uncle Adam and Bentley. A totally cool Spiderman bike complete with helmet and pads from Grandma and Grandpa Myers, Aunt Misty and Xander and Zoe. We got him some wooden trains and a collapse-able tent and tunnel thing. We are most grateful for the generous gift of the bike, because he would always want to ride Kilee's bike and that caused a lot of fighting and screaming and tantrums! We will still have those I'm sure, but at least they can ride their own bikes now while throwing their tantrums!

A couple of weeks ago I asked Caidin what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. He was set on having a Spiderman cake, so I was planning how I was going to make it, what it was going to look like, ya know the usual. Then all of a sudden about a week ago, he changes his mind!! Wait a minute.....I thought only girls changed their minds at the last minute?! He wanted a firetruck cake now!! So I have to regroup and plan out a firetruck cake. Do I try to make it 3-D? Do I go and buy fondant so it can be all smooth and nice? I decided it would be cheaper and hopefully easier to just make a sheet cake then frost the truck onto the top. So that is how I did it. I thought it was cute, but not quite how I pictured it in my head. But then, I am my worst critic. Caidin was thrilled when he saw it! I don't think he stopped smiling, so that made it all ok!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY C-MAN!!
We love you so much!

Michelle,
I didn't realize you did cakes too! I Have to say I'm not surprised. You are amazing.
FYI - that BBQ smelled so good, we were very tempted to crash the party!
