Shark Reef Aquarium

On the last night we were in Vegas we took a moment to go and see the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. First off, what a fabulous hotel!! I even enjoyed the casino! Even though smoking is allowed inside, which I would never get used to and absolutely do not enjoy, at Mandalay Bay you couldn't even really tell!! I don't know if they just have better ventilation, or if it is because the ceilings are so much taller, but it wasn't horrible to walk into. Unlike other casinos where when you walk in, you walk into a wall of smoke and you can't breath without feeling like you are going to die!! I remember as a child when my dad would come home from his NAB conventions in Vegas and I would hug him and he smelled of smoke and Doublemint Gum. I now know why!! You can't go anywhere in Vegas to escape the smell of liquor and smoke.

Sorry, got a little sidetracked. The aquarium was really cool. My favorite part was the tunnels where the fish swim over your head!! Not only are you surrounded on all sides by water, only a layer of Plexiglas keeping you safe from thousands of gallons of water, but the sharks and fish swim right over the top of your head!! It was great. They have a little pool thing in the middle where you can touch the sting rays....I did it, but Aaron didn't want to. He said with his fishing experiences he has touched enough fish in his life so it wasn't too exciting.


As I was trying to take pictures of the fish, they kept moving and the pictures would end up blurry. Then Aaron had a fantastic idea and suggested I just take a video of them!! What a smart guy, I knew I took him along for a reason ;)!! That made it so much easier!! So here are some videos of the Aquarium.
