Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

All in 20 Minutes....

Tonight started out like any other night. I was in the kitchen making dinner while the kids were running around and Aaron was doin' his thing. The thunder and lightening started and the rains came. Cool, I thought, we could use some water! Then it came down even harder, and then the hail came! Within the space of about 20 minutes, give or take, the street became a river! I ran across the street to show Angie my skirt and I got soaked up to my knees!! Down the street, a car was parked and the water was up to the headlights! The water got to be so much the man hole covers were blown off because of the pressure. A family in our ward, had their windows break and the basement became flooded...they were not home at the time. It was the craziest thing to see, but the craziest part was it was over as quickly as it came on.

We had hail popping up out of the ground where the black pipe that is connected to the down spout is buried. I am so grateful we were fortunate enough to avoid major problems, and my heart goes out to those few that had windows broken and basements flooded. Who would have thought this would happen on the last day in July?!
