Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

Another Successful Project!

After the busy week I have had, I finally had a moment to sit down and enjoy some sewing time! Angie had brought a skirt over that wouldn't fit her daughter anymore but it was perfect for Eliza. When Kilee saw it, she wanted one just like it. I had an old pair of jeans that didn't fit anymore..hehehe..too big!! So I tried to make a pattern off of Liza's skirt without taking it apart. I cut my jeans up, traced on the pattern and then cut them out.

Aaron bought me some very nice scissors, 1/4 inch elastic (for my shirts), waistband elastic, pins and a pin cushion for an early birthday present so I could finish her skirt. I sat down to sew it all together today and all in all it took me about 2 hours. I know that sounds long, but I had to unpick the sides 'cause I realized it would be easier to sew them last. When I finally got done I was quite surprised with the result. Her waistband is just elastic because trying to do a waistband like Liza's would have caused me too much frustration at this point in my sewing career. The best part, Kilee was absolutely ecstatic about it and wore it for the rest of the night!

I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends that can teach me how to sew!! I am so excited for my next sewing day with Angie!!
