Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

Callie's Cafe

So there is this little cafe in Orem that I recently discovered thanks to my girl, Alicia! Every weekend they do an all age karaoke. Alicia's mom goes in regularly and sings her heart out! Alicia invited me along last Friday night and I have to say, I had so much fun!! There are families there and to watch all the little kids sing, it was so cute. Especially when you have this little 10 year old taking on songs by Eminem and Korn. I wouldn't know, but apparently he made the songs sound more innocent than the original singers;)

As it gets later, the families fade out and the adults take the stage. What was funny to me was that there was this group of about 6 or 7 women just cutting loose! They were dancing out on the floor as others were singing...I should have taken a video of that....I mean I could have made a movie, Mormon Mom's Gone Wild, and made a ton of money! Kidding, what was funny was that I totally could have been up there with them.....had I known them. I guess there is just something about being around kids all day and having a husband that doesn't dance that makes you want to get your groove on on the weekend! Maybe next time, eh!? Now, they weren't all LDS and I can't be sure they were even all mothers, but it was so fun to watch.

Alicia's mom sang three songs while we were there. I have posted one so you can hear her. The video is kind of dark....there wasn't a whole lotta light in there. I tell ya that woman has got a great voice! It was so fun to watch her and see the passion she puts into her songs. I am so glad I went, and I am so excited to go back! My girls want to go, they want to sing some Hannah Montana songs!!
