Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

Sewing Class

Angie came over again yesterday and we did some more sewing. I am really beginning to enjoy sewing. I am so grateful she is taking time to teach me and share her love of sewing with me. Yesterday she taught me how to make really cute skirts for Liza and Kilee. They were super easy to make, yet somehow I still managed to make a few mistakes. Luckily Angie is really patient, she is such a wonderful teacher for me. She also taught me how to make pajama pants and patterns. She is going to come over again in 2 weeks and we are going to do another project.

I am finding I am excited to try and find things to sew. For example, we have this chair that was once a glider/rocker which has since lost it's bottom, and the arms have holes in them from the kids picking at them. Anyway, there were pockets on the side, one was ripped off a while ago, but I pulled the other one off the other day so I can use the material to make new arm covers!! I was so impressed at myself for even thinking of doing that. I have yet to finish, but I am so excited to see if they turn out!
