Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

Matchy, Matchy!!

My neighbor for whose daughters I recently made dresses, now has a shirt that will match! She had wanted to make a shirt for herself so I told her I would make her one. She liked the material from her girls' dresses so much she wanted her shirt to match. It was so fun to feel like someone's personal seamstress!! And what's more, to have it turn out so cute! I am really pleased with how her shirt turned out. I added to it a little by giving it the layered look with the dark purple trim around the bottom and sleeves.
Bottom Hem
Sleeve HemI also was really excited at the back neckline. I took the purple material and made a casing thing I guess, that I folded over the raw edge of the flowered material. I put in a cute little stitch and was pretty happy with how it came together!

It looks much better on her than it does on me, but this is just to give an idea of the shaping of the shirt when worn.
I hope to get a picture of her and her beautiful girls all in their dresses and shirt so you can see them on.

Very cute and creative. I really enjoy being a personal seamstress for others beyond the family, too. It's great! -M
