Well,Christmas has come and gone yet again. This year was as much fun if not more fun than years passed. With the kids getting older and realizing what it all means, it makes the season that much more enjoyable. We spent Christmas Eve with my family doing our traditional fondue dinner. As always, mom outdid herself and dinner was amazing!! It is so wonderful to have family so close so we can enjoy our holidays with them. Christmas Day we went back out to see Aaron's parents. The kids enjoyed seeing their aunt and uncles and playing on Grandma's playground.
Christmas morning was exciting for the kids. It is hard to admit when you are struggling and maybe need a little help. We have been in such a position and I was beginning to wonder how we were going to give our kids a nice Christmas. Now, I'm not talking all the newest and greatest toys, just something they could be excited about. Our neighbor came over a few weeks before Christmas and provided us with a gift card with X amount on it. It turns out his work was doing a pay it forward kind of deal and he and his wife had thought of our family. It was through tears I thanked them and thanked my Heavenly Father for the many blessings that have come our way. The true Spirit of Christmas was all around us this year and for that I am most grateful.
