Winning is not about headlines and hardware [medals]. It's only about attitude. A winner is a person who goes out today and every day and attempts to be the best runner and best person they can be! Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.

My Hubby is a Total Freakin' Genius!

Have you ever done something, that you have done many times before with normal results, but then this time something goes wrong? That would be Tuesday for me. I dropped Liza off at school and rolled the passenger window down to talk to a friend....well, when I went to roll it back up it made it about half way before sounding like the glass itself broke! I didn't really know what to do, so I rolled it back down...well it stopped working. So here we are, the cold weather still upon us and our passenger window will not roll up.

Aaron called the dealership where we purchased the car 3 years ago and they told him it should be covered under our warranty still, yipee! We take it down there only to find out that it is not covered AND it will cost $85 for them just to LOOK at it! Are you serious!?!? I mean seriously, I know $85 may not seem like a lot, but for us...right now it is! And that was just to have them look at it and tell us what is wrong with it, that didn't include any necessary parts to fix it or any labor etc, etc. Plus, it would take them 30-45 minutes just to get the door panel off to see what they could do!! Who wants to sit at a car dealership with 4 kids for more than an hour? Not me!!

We left. Aaron said he could fix it himself for that price. We get home, he tears into the door and discovers what the problem is (in about 30 minutes TOTAL!!!)....finds the part at an auto part store and fixes it!! For about the price they wanted just to look at it!! Ya know, I think I have taken him for granted....I think growing up with a dad that could fix anything made me think all guys could do it. Not so, I have met many a man that cannot fix things......but I am SOOOO glad I married one of the few that can!!! He is so smart and so wonderful....he is a real money saver, that one!! Thanks to him for being my mister fix-it and thanks to HIS dad for teaching him how!!

Yay for handy hubbies!! That is awesome! I told my husband I wanted a console table and not an ugly stand to put our fish on, but they run between $200 to $300 for a cheap one. So he made me one out of our old dining table and I love it! Husbands that fix things are amazing!

Well, that example isn't really him fixing something, but I do break a lot of things for him to fix.:)
